Well, TCPaintball has informed me of the "mini milsim" they'll be hosting on April 26th. I believe TF: Phalanx should attend this as it's first official MilSim game. Of cource, it will most likely be on a smaller scale (Probably more laxed on rules and regs as it's a mini). Some things that will be required are:
Mid-Caps: At MilSim games, only low-mid caps (50-150ish rounds) are allowed. No hi-caps are allowed on the field.
A set of camo (either tan based or green based): You must wear a set of camo that can be designated for either tan or green team. Mixing and matching is not allowed. It's not like a REC game where teams are broken up by colored arm bands, it's broken up by green camo and tan camo.
A mid-high level airsoft gun: This is not essentially required as it is needed. A simple springer won't work and will die either break during the game, or will not perform up to par.
Recommended:
Hydration: stay hydrated! I cannot stress this point enough. A camelback or hydration pouch with a bladder is the best type, but a few water bottles or a canteen will do.
LBV: Another item I would recommend... Pockets are great, but they won't cut it at a MilSim. I have been in many scenarios where I my pockets on my Crye pants just weren't enough to carry everything, and I lost stuff on the field, never to get them back.
It is, after all, Military Simulation and it is a courtesy to other players as well as yourself to play as such.
A backup AEG: Every good airsofter knows that a backup is a good investment. It doesn't have to be as good as your primary, but just something you can go to if your primary goes down. They should have guns to lend, though, if you don't have one or can't get one.
Good Hiking Boots and spare socks: It ain't about looks, it's about stamina. And if your airsofting and you wore tennisshoes, and they aren't tall enough, mud and moisture will seep in and you'll just have one terrific day! Bring a good pair of hikers or boots that will take stress and are water resistant. Also bring spare socks. Don't want to be stuck with wet socks all day.
The cost for the event is $25 for prepayments.
More information will be forthcoming. You will have an entire month to prepare for the event if there's anything you'll need. I'll create a roster below this post. You do not have to run with Phalanx to be put on the roster, just let me know if you are going.
