Heck yeah, that will work. I never had any problem with the old US uniforms. I just liked World War 2 period so much.

Well I have all the uniform for 101st but we would need to paint the iconic white spade on the side of our helmets. A word of warning: air borne gear is much more complex than the normal WWII get up. They have special boots, special pants, special gloves, special webbing, etc. If people want I can post the list of gear carried by the 101st air borne Div. Thankfully you can get most of this stuff online. Also I think we should run Thompson sub-machine guns, mainly because they run semi and full auto and I don't know were you would get M1A1 or M1 Garand in an airsoft gun.

Guys, let's stick with modern for a lil while... Maybe when we're all a little more advanced and experienced (and wealthy...) we can do 101 kits on the side.
Harvester is correct. The airborne did have different gear. The only things that remained the same as the foot-sloggin' infantry was the cartridge belt and the suspenders (which the airborne reinforced themselves...). After the invasion, when they were forwarded to Market Garden, the airborne were reissued with the new M43 uniforms along with much of the army, an attempt to standardize military uniforms. However, the airborne once again got full M43 uniforms (which they again reinforced themselves and sewed on pockets onto the pants) while most of the infantry units were either partially issued with just the jackets or some with none at all... The airborne were the A-teams, so naturally they got the best stuff.
Some good places to research cost and a general overview of the gear is atthefront.com and mantheline.com The prices are pretty good, and their gear is accurate.
