While this might be a bit premature this is what I think we should have for the rest of the gear and color. LBV and color: I would prefer to have a coyote tan or desert color, I think a PC or chest rig would suffice (but we're probably going to all switch to PC anyways  ) Head Gear and Color: In summer and warm weather I'm for a Helmet (style can be determined later though i'm not overly fond of MICH 2000) and a tactical baseball cap, in winter I think a Black/tan skull cap or Cap with ear flaps would work in addition to the helmet. Color I would prefer also using coyote tan. Weapon system: I would think American/Nato style guns Intercom system: Eventually I would like to see us all running baofengs or better but for now some high powered walkie talkies should be fine (i.e. higher end Motorola talkabouts or equivalent) This implies that any other would be unwelcome. |

Ah, I see. The main concern is mag compatibility, not so much uniformity, though that is important to teamwork as well. I'd say leave the decision to Josh.

I think the perceived problem with me getting another SVD is mag compatibility. But if (and this is a virtual guarantee) I'm getting a sniper/SDM gun....the mags wouldn't be compatible with the rest of your guns anyway! Unless there is a sniper rifle out there that takes standard M4 mags that I don't know about. Could we please have some productive discussion about this subject ASAP since the gun that I'm looking at is only on sale for a brief period?!?!? i'm willing to conform to team's decision, but wish to know soon!

The navy, in order to have a more compatible weapon system for SDMs, created what they call the SPR. Its a M4 compatible gun with a longer barrel (dont remember length) and free float rail system. It is a highly dependable system, and you could just use an m16 or something similar. All I'm saying is that longer m4s are used as DMRs.
