Before anyone decides to go out and invest money in a new gun, I think it would be wise to wait until the team decides what kind of weapon platform we will use. Just my own personal opinion. I think the perceived problem with me getting another SVD is mag compatibility. But if (and this is a virtual guarantee) I'm getting a sniper/SDM gun....the mags wouldn't be compatible with the rest of your guns anyway! Unless there is a sniper rifle out there that takes standard M4 mags that I don't know about. Could we please have some productive discussion about this subject ASAP since the gun that I'm looking at is only on sale for a brief period?!?!? i'm willing to conform to team's decision, but wish to know soon!

So, now we need to decide which SDM gun Sev will officially use.

Honestly I would rather go with NATO style guns but, it's up to you as the marksman mag comparability isn't as vital, however this means you'll need to get plenty of midcaps. The only reason I would say get something else would be for the looks, because if we go for a certain country or military it's important to look the same and have a similar weapon platform. I'll make a poll for the which style weapons and we can get a better idea then.

I'm also comfortable with an M14 (the gun I had before the SVD). So I looked it up like Abbot said, and like the CYMA M14 and will be getting one, it is a lot cheaper than the SVD or VSS and has a mini as opposed to a stick battery, and also can be purchased with midcaps. problem solved. I do wish to reserve the right to use my current SVD as a backup or at winter games. I think this will work out well. This also leaves me with more money to chip in for an lmg if that's something we end up doing!

Well good choice and I hope we do get the LMG.

I think that's an excellent plan, and I have no qualms over you using the SVD as a backup.

Good choices. I would also add on a tight bore barrel as it will greatly increase accuracy and range. Also, you might need to put in a smaller spring so you can play in both CQB and field.

It is sitting just above 360, at 350-400. mabey they will make an exception for a sdm.

We'll see once I get it. I like to have the "feel" of a new gun before I make Modifications.

Well I do agree with putting a smaller spring in your gun so you can play CQB for it is tough to have to miss out on a game because of ones gun.
