Ecthelion will switch sometime soon... The biggest importance is mag compatibility. Yeah, I'm a big help in that. I say find a semi auto M14. A little out of date, yes, but its american, cheap, and somewhat upgrade able. Although, I agree with Ajax. Don't start spending money on stuff until you are sure you'll be able to use it.

Well I do agree with putting a smaller spring in your gun so you can play CQB for it is tough to have to miss out on a game because of ones gun. Well, with the SVD as backup, he should be able to participate anyway. That is unless it is a game in which we wish to uphold NATO base.

The main time I'm concerned about using NATO weapons is during MilSim and large, long events where mag compatibility is more important. When we play rec games I could care less what kind of gun you use.
